Becky Payne is a native of Clay County. She moved to Central Illinois after high school to complete college and worked there over the past 25 years. Recently she returned back to Clay County and has begun working at Red Brush as the Pastoral Minister/Counselor. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Church and Family Life from Lincoln Christian College (now University) and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Lincoln Christian Seminary (now University) in Lincoln, Illinois. Becky has been involved in Christian ministry with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, families and groups for over twenty years with an emphasis on working with trauma and addiction in the homeless population. Becky is licensed by the state of Illinois and has done professional counseling for almost a decade. She has served as an adjunct professor at both Lincoln Christian University in their Psychology Department for nine years and at St. Louis Christian College in their Behavioral Ministries Department for 1 1/2 years. Becky is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and provides Christ-centered, professional counseling for men, women, children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. She believes that a personal relationship with the Lord is vital to finding healing in one’s life. In 2010, Becky was trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a technique that is valuable in overcoming trauma and abuse as well as many other things.
